Brij Bhushan's son Karan's convoy was struck by a vehicle, leaving two people dead, according to UP Police
An SUV that was apparently a part of the convoy of former WFI chairman Brij Bhushan's son Karan Bhushan Singh struck two persons and killed them. Karan is the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha candidate for the BJP in 2024.
Uttar Pradesh Gonda news: On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, police officers were positioned next to the remains of an escort car that was a part of the convoy led by BJP politician Karan Bhushan Singh, the son of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and which is suspected of hitting a motorcyclist.
According to authorities, an escort car that was purportedly a member of BJP candidate from Kaiserganj Karan Bhushan Singh's cavalcade on Wednesday in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, struck two young people, killing them and injuring a lady.
The former head of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is the father of Karan Singh. The BJP has announced Kaiserganj resident Karan Bhushan Singh as their candidate for the Lok Sabha.
When he was the WFI chairman, Karan's father, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, was accused last year of sexually harassing a few female wrestlers. Following the accusations of sexual harassment and the filing of criminal proceedings against him, he resigned from the office.
Based on the claims of five complainants, a Delhi court had previously filed charges against former WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh under Indian Penal Code Sections 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to insult modesty) and 354A (sexual harassment).
The court is now hearing the case against Brij Bhushan Singh.
What happened place today?
On Wednesday, a motorcyclist was allegedly struck by an SUV that was apparently a member of Karan Singh Bhushan's convoy close to a school. Rehan Khan (17) and Shehzad Khan (20), who were on a motorbike, perished instantly, according to Kernalganj SHO Nirbhay Narayan Singh.
The news agency PTI cited the Kernalganj SHO as stating that Sita Devi (60) was struck by the automobile when it lost control while she was strolling on the side of the road. He said that the lady was admitted to the hospital.
"A post-mortem has been ordered for the corpses. The driver of the SUV is the subject of a FIR that we are now filing, according to the Kernalganj SHO.
According to the report, police detained 30-year-old Lavkush Srivastav, the driver who is charged. They said that in order to maintain law and order, police officers had been stationed nearby.
According to further information provided by the police, the residents said that Karan Singh, the BJP candidate for the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency, was riding in the SUV that was involved in the collision.
A police officer was cited as stating, "They also alleged that the occupants of the SUV fled in another vehicle but abandoned the damaged car."
There is a protest
Residents and victims' families, angered by the tragedy, barricaded the route. According to PTI, they insisted on the arrest of everyone connected to the collision. Prominent law enforcement officers appeased the demonstrators by promising prompt resolution of the issue.
