Yogi Adityanath criticizes Congress on the inheritance tax controversy, citing everything from Sharia law to wealth distribution to "intruders."

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, accused the Congress of trying to provide money to invaders and attacked them for supporting the inheritance tax. He emphasized the party's past of stealing resources and said that they are now pursuing the property of regular people.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has criticized Indian Overseas Congress chairman Sam Pitroda for his remarks on the "inheritance tax" during a political discussion over the grand old party's electoral pledge of "wealth distribution." Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, attacked Congress harshly for its claims of "sharia law" and "inheritance tax."

The party's platform for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the UPA administration in India, according to the top BJP leader, exposed the Congress's agenda.

"The previous Home Minister, P Chidambaram, too supported what Sam Pitroda said yesterday. Over sixty to sixty-five years, Congress plundered the nation's resources. Its current focus is on the property of regular people," Adityanath said, as cited by ANI.

It now has its sights set on the property of regular people. It is discussing inheritance tax because of this. It will disperse it across the trespassers. Who doesn't know that Congress' vote-bank strategy is responsible for the millions of trespassers and Rohingyas living in various regions of the nation?" The prime minister continued.

He said that the inheritance tax is only one example of how Congress has always pursued politics at the expense of the country.

Congress is seeking to implement Sharia law.

According to Adityanath, the Congress plans to impose Sharia rule in India on Tuesday. Days before, Prime Minister Modi had said that the party headed by Sonia Gandhi had made sure that the Muslim minority received a share of people's property.

"Congress has returned to the country with its fraudulent platform. If we get a majority, they threaten to impose personal laws, or Sharia law. "Will Shariat or the Constitution drafted by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar govern this nation going forward?" the prominent BJP politician questioned.

The chief minister went on to clarify his statement, claiming that since Prime Minister Modi ended the practice of triple talaq, the Congress will enact Muslim law. "Do you want the Congress and Samajwadi Party to loot your property?" he then addressed the populace.

What sparked the "inheritance tax" controversy?

Sam Pitroda said, "There is an inheritance tax in America," during a TV discussion. If a person has $100 million USD in fortune, the government will likely take $55% of it and leave just around 45% for his offspring after his death. What a fascinating law it is. It states that if you, your generation, have amassed riches and are departing now, you must give half of your fortune—not all of it—to the public. This seems reasonable to me."

But Pitroda clarified his statement, and the Congress has distanced itself from the comment. "Who said we'd take away five fifths? Who made the claim that India should carry out such an action? Why is the media and BJP so terrified?

"In my typical TV talk, I brought up the US inheritance tax just as an example. Can't I just state the facts? I said that these are the kinds of topics that people need to talk about and argue. This is unrelated to any party's or Congress's policies," he said.
