PM battling made-up ghosts, Cong manifesto should discuss "real" issues: Chidambaram
Senior Congressman P Chidambaram took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, stating that the PM should discuss the actual concerns included in the manifesto instead than having his ghostwriter create a manifesto based on his imagination.
Chidambaram's words coincide with the prime minister's ongoing criticism of Congressman Sam Pitroda's remarks on a "inheritance tax" in the midst of a dispute over "wealth redistribution." "The Hon. Prime Minister keeps finding and reading phrases and words that aren't there in the Congress manifesto! The head of the committee that wrote the Congress manifesto, Chidambaram, said, "He has imagined a Congress' manifesto composed by one of his ghost speech writers."
Within the platform, the term "inheritance tax" is absent, according to the former finance minister's post on X. "The tax pledges made by the Congress are quite clear: Lessen the tax burden on MSMEs; Bring about an age of openness, equality, clarity, and impartial tax administration of direct taxes," Chidambaram said. "Maintain stable personal income tax rates for the length of five years."
He said that the Congress will bring about GST 2.0, provide shopkeepers and retail companies with major tax relief, and eliminate the dishonest 'cess' Raj of the Modi administration. "Watching the Hon'ble PM battle unreal ghosts is depressing. Chidambaram said, "He need to discuss the'real' concerns outlined in the Congress Manifesto.
Chidambaram had stated in a statement on Thursday that the "manufactured" disputes around "redistribution of wealth" and "inheritance tax" demonstrated how fear had taken hold of the BJP, causing it to turn to deceit, abuse, and distortion as "Modi ki Guarantee" has completely disappeared. According to Chidambaram, the treaty pledges fairness for all societal groups and is impartial towards all religions.
