Lok Sabha Elections: On April 30, there will be reelections in six voting places in Outer Manipur
Recounts will take place on April 30 after voting at four polling places in the Ukhrul assembly segment and one in each of the Chingai assembly seat in Ukhrul and Karong in Senapati was ruled invalid.
In 13 out of 28 assembly segments of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, about 76.06 percent of 4.84 lakh voters cast ballots on April 26.
On April 30, authorities announced that there would be reelections in six voting places within the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
Re-polling was required because four of the six polling places had their EVMs and VVPATs damaged by unknown individuals before the polls closed on April 26. Additionally, one polling place reported an issue with an EVM, and another could not finish voting because of "threat and intimidation by unknown miscreants." Rerun voting will take place on April 30 after the declaration of null and invalid voting at four polling places in the Ukhrul assembly segment, and one each in the Chingai assembly seat in Ukhrul and Karong in Senapati. This information was released by the office of Manipur's chief election officer.
In 13 out of 28 assembly segments of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, about 76.06 percent of 4.84 lakh voters cast ballots on April 26. On April 19, voting took place in the first phase for the remaining 15 segments and the whole Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
