The DRDO said that India successfully tested the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) in flight on Thursday off the coast of Odisha that extends from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur.

All of the subsystems operated as expected during the test. Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, commended DRDO for the ITCM's successful test flight. He said that a significant accomplishment for Indian defense research and development is the successful production of the country's long-range, subsonic cruise missile using country-sourced propulsion. According to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Integrated Test Range has deployed various range sensors, including telemetry, electro-optical tracking systems (EOTS), and radar, at different locations to monitor the missile's performance and guarantee full coverage of the flight path.

They added that the Indian Air Force's Su-30-Mk-I aircraft also kept an eye on the missile's flight. "The missile displayed extremely low altitude sea-skimming flight and used waypoint navigation to follow the intended course. The DRDO said in a statement that "this successful flight test has additionally developed the indigenous propulsion system developed by Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru's dependable performance."

The Aeronautical Development Establishment, a DRDO laboratory located in Bengaluru, is developing the missile with assistance from other labs and Indian industry, according to the statement. Numerous top scientists from different DRDO facilities as well as officials from the manufacturing partner saw the test.
