Arvind Kejriwal is the target of a conspiracy; anything might happen to him while he's in jail: Singh Sanjay

Singh said that the BJP's "modus operandi" may even go so far as to assassinate someone during a news conference held here.

Sanjay Singh, a member of the AAP in the Rajya Sabha, reaffirmed on Friday the party's claim that Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, is the target of a complex plot and that with him behind bars, anything can happen.

Singh said that the BJP's "modus operandi" may even go so far as to assassinate someone during a news conference held here.

Regarding Singh's allegations, the BJP did not immediately respond.

The MP further attacked BJP politicians for "making fun" of a condition that Kejriwal had, pointing out that the media was disseminating "misleading" information about the chief minister of Delhi.

"If the rules of jail do not allow health-related information of a detainee to be shared with anyone, therefore why did the ED publicise a fake diet chart of Kejriwal in the media on Thursday," said the reporter.

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP's accusation elicited no response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Singh, nevertheless, said that Kejriwal is not going to back down.

After Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was detained by the ED in connection with the excise policy case, Delhi Cabinet minister Atishi claimed on Thursday that there was a plan to murder him by depriving him of insulin and home-cooked meals while he was in jail. The charges were denied by the prison administration.

Her accusations were made only hours after the ED told a judge that Kejriwal had type 2 diabetes but was consuming high-sugar meals like bananas, mangoes, and sweets every day in order to get medical bail or be sent to the hospital.
