Weather Update: Uttarakhand experiences snowfall, Delhi prepares for cold, and the chill becomes worse after light to moderate rain

The Meteorological Department's prediction indicates that Delhi would likely have a high temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius on February 2 and a low temperature of about 9 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD, there is a chance of rain in a few locations in the western Himalayan region and in particular parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that following light to moderate rain and thundershowers across different portions of Delhi-NCR on February 1, persistent chilly weather continued over Delhi. Rainfall persisted during the night between January 31 and February 1, resulting in a notable four-degree rise in the lowest temperature on February 1 to 12.3 degrees Celsius.

According to reports, there was mild to moderate rain in a number of Delhi locations, including IGI Airport, Punjabi Bagh, Dwarka, Delhi Cantt, Palam, Safdarjung, and Lodhi Road.

As the effects of the western disturbance are probably going to be smaller, there is less possibility of rain on February 2. But starting on February 3, the city is anticipated to be impacted by another western disturbance. The Meteorological Department's prognosis indicates that on February 2, the maximum temperature will likely reach around 20 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature will likely drop to about 9 degrees Celsius.

Up to February 5, several parts of North India are expected to see moderate to intense rainfall due to the current weather pattern, known as a Western Disturbance. According to IMD, this has resulted in a cyclonic storm across Rajasthan's northwest and the neighboring regions. Additionally, there's a chance of snowfall in certain areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh because of this weather system.

The western disturbance is predicted to impact northwest India starting on February 3. Areas such as Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are predicted to see mild to heavy rain and snowfall.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department said that rain is possible in a few locations in the Western Himalayan region as well as in certain areas of Uttar Pradesh in the next days.

Aside from this, February 2 is predicted to bring mild to moderate rain to Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. In these places, it is anticipated that the pattern of intermittent rainfall will persist from February 3 to February 4.

Skymet Weather indicates that North Madhya Pradesh may have light rain on February 4 and 5. Aside from this, areas of Jharkhand, Odisha, South Tamil Nadu, South Kerala, and Gangetic West Bengal may have mild to moderate rain.

Snowfall and light to moderate rain are possible in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim's higher regions. In some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi, there may be a lot of fog.
