On February 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 2.5 kilometre Signature Bridge in Dwarka, Gujarat. This bridge will set you back ₹978 crore.


On February 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 2.5 kilometre Signature Bridge in Gujarat's Dwarka, a popular pilgrimage site that connects Okha and Bayt. For locals and tourists alike, this bridge is quite significant when it comes to the famous Dwarkadhish temple. The cost of construction is Rs 978 crore.


The following five facts regarding Gujarat's famous bridges


1) The Centre launched the bridge's construction with a bhoomi pujan ceremony in 2017 with the goal of providing convenient access for pilgrims travelling between Okha and Bet Dwarka. In order to go to the Dwarkadhish temple in Beit, Dwarka, travellers had to rely on boat transportation prior to the bridge's completion.


2) The Signature Bridge has a distinctive design, with pictures of Lord Krishna and lines from the Bhagavad Gita adorning the walkway on both sides. The longest cable-stayed bridge in India is also notable for having solar panels placed on the top portions of the walkway, which produce one megawatt of power.


3) The local population and pilgrims are looking forward to the inauguration, according to ANI, as it would result in a major improvement in accessibility to the sacred Bayt Dwarka.


4) "With the development of public infrastructure, this bridge will boost tourism, save us time, and increase our access to high-quality healthcare." Visitors may now utilise the bridge directly instead of having to take a 5-hour boat ride to get to Bet Dwarka. This would save their trip duration by three hours, a Dwarka visitor told ANI.


5) "For those who cannot afford boat trips, this bridge will provide a practical and sustainable alternative. Locals, who often encounter several obstacles while travelling at night, will be able to move more easily and conveniently thanks to it. must confront," said a different traveller.
