On February 16, PM Modi will lay the cornerstone of AIIMS, Rewari, Gurugram Metro

On February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will essentially lay the groundwork for the Gurugram Metro project. The estimated cost of the metro project is ₹5,452 crore.

Tuesday's news said that on February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation stone for the Gurugram Metro project. According to the report, PM Modi would essentially launch seven or eight projects on the same day. This will also apply to Majra Bhalkhi village's AIIMS Rewari.

People in Gurugram would be able to see this event live, as per a report in Hindustan Times (HT). Notably, the city has long demanded the completion of the Gurugram Metro project. It will link the metro to the city's historic district. In June of last year, the project received approval.

The proposal entails extending the metro to Cyber Hub from HUDA City metro station, which is now known as Millennium City Center metro station. The 26.65 kilometer section would go through Old Gurugram as well. It will probably cost around ₹5,452 crore. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, a joint venture between the Central Government and the State of Haryana, will handle its operations.

The estimated cost of the AIIMS Rewari project, which would span 210 acres, is Rs 1,231 crore. This will be India's twenty-second AIIMS. Announcing its construction was part of the 2019–20 Budget.

The outpatient clinic can accommodate 1,500 patients each day, while the hospital will have 750 beds. In addition, there will be 25 super specialized departments and 100 seats in a medical college. It will include a nursing college as well. The original plan was for Manethi to be the site of this project's construction. It was, however, changed to Majra Bhalkhi since Manethi is part of the Aravali forest region.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seeking to turn the occasion into a rally and draw one lakh spectators for the live transmission of the ceremony, according to another story that appeared in the Indian Express (IE) earlier. In order to plan its course of action, the BJP has organized a gathering for Sunday.
