Since banking became digital, older persons' issues have become worse. They are falling prey to internet fraud and scams at an increasing rate. Banks will need to make sure that their senior residents' convenience is taken care of in such a scenario. The following are the only actions banks should do to encourage the virtual usage of digital payments for banking:

In 2022–2023 there were 9,097 internet scams affecting older persons; in 2022–2023 there were 13,530. These startling statistics were found in the RBI's FY23 annual report. Even while bank fraud affects everyone on a daily basis, older adults account for the majority of these victims. This number is rising quickly over time.

In 2022, there were 149 million adults over 60 in India, according to a research jointly published by the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This amount is expected to rise to 347 million. 2050. For banks, young people have long been a desirable clientele. Although it is quite simple to provide older individuals digital financial services, senior clients are just as crucial to banks.

Banks used to be very active growing their physical presence. Seniors' convenience with doorstep banking made simple. But even in the digital era, banks continue to encounter challenges. Encouraging older citizens with these programs is very challenging. Despite advancements in online channels, mobile applications, payment cards, and wallets since the digital era, older adults are still unable to use these services.

Taking older folks' e-banking difficulties into consideration

Everywhere in the nation, senior adults have unique financial needs. They remain unconvinced about digital banking. People have to cope with issues including physical impairment and poor eyesight as they become older.

The milieu in which senior persons grow up is one of trust. In these circumstances, individuals quickly fall prey to internet scams. Scammers pose as bank staff and government authorities in order to target these individuals. Sensitive information is extracted from them in order to commit fraud.

The CBSE recommends expanding the secondary and high school curriculum by adding new topics in order to stay up with this endeavor. Professional and interdisciplinary courses are offered. Instead of the current five courses, pupils in Class 10 will now need to pass ten topics, which will include three languages and seven core disciplines.

Updates for students in class twelve

In grades 11 and 12, six topics will now need to be studied, as opposed to five. There are two languages taught, along with four required topics and one elective. It is essential that at least one of the two languages be of Indian origin. All heads of CBSE-based schools received a proposal detailing these modifications for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12A late last year. December 5, 2023, was the deadline for these colleges to respond.
