At the introduction of the new Gemini Advanced subscription, Sundar Pichai said, "Gemini represents the frontier of the future of AI."

Last week, Google revealed a significant redesign for Bard. In addition to the rebranding, Gemini also debuted Gemini Advanced, the company's "most capable AI assistant ever," which is available to consumers via a $20 monthly subscription service. Gemini is now focusing only on artificial intelligence, as indicated by the renaming. According to CEO Sundar Pichai, the new moniker "represents our holistic approach in building the most capable and responsible AI models."

Pichai outlined the rationale for the rebranding in a special interview with CNBC. "Developing it as Gemini really makes sense, because it's the underlying Gemini model when you use it," he said. "I believe that users can directly experience our models as we continue to push them."

To make its AI helper more widely available, Gemini is releasing applications for iOS and Android. Gemini may be set as the default assistant for Android users in lieu of Google Assistant. As a result, Gemini essentially displaces Google Assistant.

Gemini's excellent response to ChatGPT Plus is called Gemini Advanced. Subscribers may access Gemini Ultra 1.0 for $20 a month. According to Pichai, Gemini's "most capable model yet" is the Ultra, which is excellent at coding and other challenging inquiries.

It really is brilliant. Say, "Tell me more about what I'm seeing on my screen," using the Gemini app on your phone. Pichai said, "It is really capable of those dimensions."

Pichai highlighted a pivotal instance in which Ultra recognized a sequence of pictures as video. He said that at this point the sequence of pictures "really made sense" and that "questions about it could almost be answered as it was understood to be a video."

According to Pichai, the largest challenge is mass-training ultras in a safe manner. Nonetheless, in his opinion, the model "represents the limits of the future of AI."

AI capabilities in productivity applications like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets will also be powered by Gemini. These were sold under the Duet AI name before being rebranded as Gemini.

Additionally, the Gemini app has a toggle that allows you to choose between interactive and conventional Gemini search. According to Pichai, this presents "an opportunity to discover new use cases to solve better than ever before."

With the introduction of Gemini Advanced, Gemini challenges Microsoft, which just made billion-dollar investments in OpenAI. Regarding competition, Pichai said that Gemini would continue to concentrate on creating the greatest solutions for customers.

Pichai has been trying Ultra 1.0 personally, using it to create real estate listings and hone his coding abilities. "One of my friends was attempting to sell his home. After [they] added additional images, they requested Ultra to write a text. After studying the interior design and architecture of the home, Ultra was able to produce a better article than we could.

It's evident that Gemini symbolizes Google's transition to become an AI-first business. Gemini is now at the forefront of consumer and corporate AI solutions thanks to the new services and rebranding.
