According to Reuters, Zee Entertainment has declared that it is free to use an Indian tribunal to enforce the terms of its $10 billion merger with Sony's Indian division.


Sony terminated the agreement, which would have resulted in the creation of one of India's biggest TV broadcasters, on January 22, alleging violation of contract.


Sony said it is "unhappy by the decision of the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC)" in response to the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) rejecting its emergency plea.


According to Sony, the ruling was mainly procedural and determined whether Zee Entertainment could proceed with its case with the NCLT. Sony has declared that they would persevere in fiercely arbitrating the matter before the whole SIAC Tribunal in Singapore, notwithstanding the setback.


"This is essentially a procedural ruling; it determines whether Zee Entertainment may proceed with its case before the NCLT or not. "We are confident of the merits of our positions in both Singapore and India," Sony said in the claim made. "We will continue to vigorously arbitrate the problem before a full SIAC Tribunal in Singapore as well as will attempt to terminate SPNI's authority."


Zee Entertainment, meanwhile, has declared that it may now use an Indian tribunal to pursue enforcement of its $10 billion merger with Sony's Indian division.
