One of the most well-liked leaders of our day, he has made a significant contribution to India's growth. According to PM Modi, he began his career as a grassroots worker before becoming our Deputy Prime Minister and serving the nation.

As the Home Minister and the Minister of Information and Broadcasting for India, the Prime Minister commended the seasoned leader and said he impressed himself. "His parliamentary interventions have consistently been exemplary and full of rich insights."

He said that Advani's decades-long career in public service was distinguished by an unrelenting dedication to honesty and openness, which has established a model for political ethics.

He has used a unique approach to promoting cultural rebirth and national unity. I'm feeling a lot of emotion as I award him with Bharat Ratna. Prime Minister Modi said, "I will always consider it my good fortune that I got many chances to interact with him and learn from him."

Advani, who was born in Karachi, Pakistan, on November 8, 1927, presided over the Bharatiya Janata Party for the longest duration since the party's founding in 1980.

He served in the government of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee (1999–2004) as home minister and then deputy prime minister throughout his almost three-decade stint in parliament.

Many people hold Advani in high respect for his remarkable intellectual prowess, persistent support for the vision of a powerful and affluent India, and strong moral convictions.

Advani "has never compromised his core belief in nationalism, but at the same time he has shown elasticity in political responses whenever the situation demanded," as Atal Bihari Vajpayee attested.
