Up till Monday, the lowest temperature of the season was 3.5 degrees Celsius, which was the minimum recorded in Delhi on Sunday.


In addition to Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand all experience the same cold. According to the Meteorological Department, there might be more cold in the next days. From Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal to Sikkim, there is a probability of rain. Different parts of these states may get light to moderate rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the IMD news release, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are predicted to see significant rainfall on January 17. Wintertime rain mixed with dense fog can exacerbate the issues as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there might be thick to very dense fog in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab until January 18. Many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will also continue to be covered in fog throughout this time.

According to the official, one aircraft was routed to Ahmedabad and four were diverted to Jaipur between the hours of one and five in the morning. Ten aircraft were rerouted and several were canceled on Sunday. The airport's aircraft operations have been greatly impacted by the thick fog and poor visibility. Simultaneously, Sichuan Airlines rerouted an aircraft due to inclement weather in Chennai. Thirunanthapuram International Airport was the new destination. The cargo jet from Chengdu, China made a safe landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Limited at around 8:37 in the morning, according to airport officials.
