On Wednesday, Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, said that his administration intends to encourage interested farmers to go to Africa in search of better possibilities, leveraging the continent's enormous agricultural potential.


After the state cabinet meeting, he told reporters here that the goal of this big project is to provide the industrious agricultural population of Haryana new chances. According to Khattar, many African nations have an abundance of land. He claimed to have just spoken with a few African diplomats, who indicated that they may reach a deal with the government on this matter. According to him, a specific area of land would be made available where Haryanan farmers may share their knowledge and technology. He stated that talks with ambassadors had taken place in this respect, and the farmers will be invited by the state administration after the signing of the agreement.


"There is an abundance of land in African nations. The ambassadors of African nations I met with suggested we might sign Memorandums of Understanding for 50,000, 1 lakh, or more hectares of land. This whole conversation was verbal, but when the Memorandum of Understanding is completed, everything will become official. Next, we'll extend invitations to farmers who express interest in attending. In this approach, the state government may also help them," said Khattar. In addition, Khattar discussed how widespread industrialization had caused Haryana's land holdings to decline. He said that over time, many of the state's farmers moved to Madhya Pradesh, where land was more inexpensive in several places.


Farmers moved from one place to another to improve the property, he added. A statement from the state government claims that it is now in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will be exchanged soon to formally formalize this collaboration, after consultations with the embassies of African nations.
