In a tweet, Nirmala Sitharaman, the minister of finance, claimed that a Tamil Nadu temple's screens were being taken down in order to broadcast live footage of the Ram Temple event.
On January 22, the Tamil Nadu government received a notice from the Supreme Court directing it to respond to a suit contesting the purported prohibition on live telecasting of the consecration event at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The government was criticized by the court for denying permission for Anna Dhan, special pujas, and archana because of the presence of certain populations.
"Never put an end to such activities on the grounds that members of 'A' or 'B' communities reside in a certain region. The court said, "Our society is homogenous.
It ordered the government to provide an explanation for denying the request for authorization without providing a valid justification.
It also asked the government for information on the quantity of applications that were received, accepted, and turned down.
One of the BJP members filed this petition.
Nirmala Sitharaman, the minister of finance, tweeted a picture earlier in the day that seemed to show a screen being taken down from a temple so that the Ram Mandir event could be shown live.
"Watching devotees do prana pratistha to @PMOIndia at a privately owned temple is a grave infringement on our freedom to worship. The rights of the people have not even remotely been upheld by the DMK administration in Tamil Nadu. Anti-Hindu DMK is now making her animosity for PM @NarendraModi public. He tweeted, "Police suppress people's dreams and use force.”
