Old Pension Scheme: GPF numbers have been provided to 120,000 workers in the state of Himachal Pradesh. For this, the Principal Accountant General has received thanks from the New Pension Employees Federation.

Under the direction of State President Pradeep Thakur, a team from the federation visited Principal Accountant General Sushil Kumar in his office on Monday and gave him a souvenir as a sign of respect. Employees were unable to support their families financially because of their meager pension.

Following the establishment of the state's Congress government, 800 retired workers began receiving their previous pension. These workers were hired subsequent to 2003. After the state government brought back the previous pension plan, the Accountant General's Office filed a pension case, gave these workers GPF numbers, and the employees began receiving pensions.

Pension will range from Rs. 150 to Rs. 500 each month.

1.20 lakh workers have also been given GPF numbers. For this, the Principal Accountant General has received thanks from the New Pension Employees Federation. Under the direction of State President Pradeep Thakur, a team from the federation visited Principal Accountant General Sushil Kumar in his office on Monday and gave him a souvenir as a sign of respect. According to Pradeep Thakur, 800 retired workers are now receiving a monthly pension of Rs 15,000 instead of the Rs 150–500 monthly pension they were receiving under NPS. The workers were unable to cover their families' bills in such a situation.

There are now 120,000 GPF numbers in circulation.

By quickly providing GPF numbers to new hires who fell under OPS's jurisdiction, the Accountant General's Office eased the concerns of state workers and allowed them to begin receiving pensions. He reminded Principal Accountant General Sushil Kumar that 1.20 GPF numbers had been provided out of 1.36 lakh workers. The GPF numbers of the surviving workers need to be made public at some point in this circumstance. This time, District Mandi President Lekhraj and State General Secretary Bharat Sharma were present in addition to Pradeep Thakur.

CM Sukhu asked that it be included under OPS's purview.

The office of the Accountant General corrected incomplete paperwork. Up till today, 10,000 workers with inadequate GPF documentation have been regularly questioned for the right paperwork by the officers and staff of the Accountant General's Office. The procedure of granting a GPF number has been quicker now that the proper documentation has been received. OPS has not been applied to the State Electricity Board's 6,000 workers. According to Pradeep Thakur, Chief Minister Sukhivander Singh Sukhu has been asked to include them under the purview of OPS.
