With the BMW 7 Series (2), Mr. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said on Thursday that 22,940 units of the German automaker's luxury automobiles and motorbikes were sold in India in 2023, setting a new record.


14,172 units were sold by the carmaker last year under the BMW and Mini brands. Additionally, 8,768 BMW Motorrad bikes were sold by the company in 2023.


Sales for the firm increased by 19% in 2022 to 19,263 units.


"For BMW Group India, 2023 has been a record-breaking year. Sales for all three brands—BMW, Mini, and BMW Motorrad—have reached all-time highs, according to BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah, who spoke to media at this location. "


He said that for the second year running, the business has successfully maintained its position as the industry leader in electric luxury cars.


"With the most innovative and diverse product range, tailored to meet the needs of a diverse customer base, we continue to set the rapid pace in the Indian electric luxury vehicle market," said Pahwa.


The best-selling luxury electric car in India, according to him, is the BMW iX.


Regarding the sales forecast, he said that the brand's momentum is anticipated to persist this year as well.


According to Pahwa, the business will introduce 19 goods this year.


In 2024, he said, the carmaker would launch 13 vehicles, including of 6 motorcycles and 2 EVs.


According to Pahwa, the business intends to introduce a number of models this year, including the X3 and 5 Series.


In 2023, BMW launches a total of 23 products.


According to Pahwa, the business anticipates that by 2025, sales of electric car models would account for 25% of overall sales.


"We're heading in that direction. We want to provide EVs on the market at a range of pricing points," he said.


In the previous year, 1,474 electric cars were sold by BMW India.
