According to the new norms of GST, businesses whose revenue would be Rs 5 crore or higher. He can no longer issue an e-way bill without providing an e-challan. Starting on March 1, this will be relevant to all of their commercial dealings. When items valued at more than Rs 50,000 are sent across states, an e-way bill must be kept on file under the GST tax system.

Using e-way bills instead of e-invoices, many businesses are trading with B2B and B2E taxpayers, according to a study conducted by the National Information Center (NIC) of the Central Government. All of these taxpayers, however, qualify for e-challan. As a result, there are instances when the information captured in the e-way bill and e-challan differs from what is considered conventional. As a result, the e-challan statement and e-way bill do not match.


In light of this, starting on March 1, 2024, GST taxpayers are requested to refrain from generating an e-way bill in the absence of an e-challan declaration. This implies that in order to create an e-way bill, these businesses will now need to provide an e-challan declaration. It has also been made clear that the e-way bill will function normally for any other transactions involving consumers or non-suppliers.
