FASTag Alert:Anil Chhikara, a transportation expert and former Delhi Transport Department official, claims that even when drivers have Fastag, they may still be required to pay a fine for minor infractions.

Delhi, New. When driving on a highway or expressway, pay the toll at the toll plaza if you often leave the city in your car. For some drivers, the news may be helpful. It may prevent their pockets from becoming lighter. Five Fastag-related errors at the toll plaza may cost drivers a lot of money. Drivers will incur costs as a result of the new Fastag that the Road Transport Ministry will be implementing starting on January 31.

Anil Chhikara, a transportation expert and former Delhi Transport Department official, claims that even when drivers have Fastag, they still have to pay penalties for minor infractions. Approximately 98 percent of automobiles in the nation have Fastag installed, with over 8 crore vehicles having this feature. Which are the top five most frequent errors committed by drivers that might result in fines? How are they preventable? Tell us.

Which five errors are those?

It takes longer because drivers store Fastag in the dashboard rather of applying it, and once they get to the toll plaza, they pull it out and leave it outside. Following drivers must wait in line. Because they believe they can use a ruse at a toll plaza to avoid paying the toll, these drivers do not place the Fastag on the windshield and instead retain it inside. Such drivers will likewise face consequences.

Certain cars each have two Fastags. Two of them are new, while one is ancient and no longer useful. The card reader takes time to read the Fastag even in this manner. The toll collector often needs to physically read the card. Such individuals may also be subject to penalties.

Each Fastag is used in two different cars. To begin with, this is against Reserve Bank directives. In addition, the car number is entered into Fastag if it pertains to a vehicle. When this Fastag is attached to a commercial vehicle, the toll plaza's card reader system uses the truck's number to calculate the small vehicle's toll. Even when the number is shown on the toll screen, the car passes if the toll collectors are unable to see it. Revenue is lost in this manner. Such drivers may also be subject to penalties. The Road Transport Ministry will deduct penalties from such cars after January 31.

Even in newer vehicles, fastag from older models shouldn't be used. Even when individuals drive little cars, there's a chance that the vehicle database is incorrectly set up or that one car will cross at the toll booth and another will cross on Fastag. These might also be the target of action.

Additionally, Fastag is cloned. Consequently, only purchase Fastag from approved vendors. In toll plazas, these kind of hashtags will be deemed fraudulent and will incur a penalty.
