Budget 2024: On February 1st, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will unveil the interim budget. This time, the budget's insurance coverage may be increased by the government. This indicates that the maximum amount of insurance coverage is now Rs 10 lakh instead of Rs 5 lakh.

On February 1st, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the interim budget. Everyone has great hopes for this budget, including the middle class, farmers, and the impoverished. The government may be able to enhance the insurance coverage under the PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme) this time around, according to sources in the media. Currently, this policy offers up to Rs 5 lakh in coverage.


The federal government may quadruple this insurance sum in Budget 2024, according to media sources. This implies that the Rs 5 lakh insurance cover limit may be immediately raised to Rs 10 lakh.


Make a plan to protect against serious diseases


Based on the information obtained from the news agency, plans are underway to include cancer and other severe illnesses under this insurance in order to provide financial assistance to individuals. In order to cover cancer and other illnesses that cost more than Rs 5 lakh, the government may raise the annual cap from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.


The number of recipients increased by twofold.


The Health Ministry has provided statistics indicating that the PM Jan Arogya Yojana has increased the number of beneficiaries to around 100 crores. In addition, the government intends to provide many others—including Asha workers and recipients of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana—access to the advantages of this program.


2018 saw the launch of this program.


On September 23, 2018, the Central Government launched this government initiative. Every family is eligible for an annual insurance benefit of Rs 5 lakh under this policy. This scheme's primary goal is to provide the lower classes access to quality healthcare services. Of the 14.6 crore Ayushman cards under this initiative, 49% are held by women. Approximately 48% of women have used the program's treatment facilities at the same time.


6.2 crore individuals have registered.


Based on data obtained from the government, around 6.2 crore individuals have been admitted to hospitals since the start of this program. Approximately Rs 74,157 crore has been spent on these individuals concurrently. In addition, the government states that this plan has saved almost Rs 1.25 crore.
