January 22 is the day of the Ram temple at Ayodhya's consecration ceremony. Both hospitals have made the decision to close their non-emergency services till 2:30 pm on that day due to the religious occasion.


One of the busiest hospitals in the nation is AIIMS Delhi.

Due to the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, two of the nation's leading hospitals, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, will observe a half-day vacation.


Both hospitals did, however, make it clear that their critical care and emergency departments would continue to run.


In its announcement, AIIMS referenced the federal government's resolution to provide half-day leave to all of its staff members.


An AIIMS spokesperson explained, according Indian news agency ANI: "All appointments are being rescheduled, and key clinical services will remain operational. We will make an effort to accommodate all patients that arrive. Work in the OPD evenings is OK."
