Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar has been excluded from the list of papers by the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Aadhaar is no longer valid as evidence of documents. Aadhaar has been taken from the list of papers accepted by EPFO as evidence of birthdate.


UIDAI cites this justification for not using Aadhaar as verification of date of birth.


Owing to its distinct characteristics, Aadhaar is accepted as a means of verifying an individual's identity and address for those who possess it. This serves as a large ID and address verification, in a sense. It is not, however, acceptable as evidence of date of birth (DoB). On behalf of the Indian government, the Unique identity Authority of India issues the 12-digit Aadhaar personal identity number. Anywhere in India, this number may be used as identification and address verification.


These papers may be used to update your EPF account's birthdate.


The Registrar of Births and Deaths issues birth certificates.

a marksheet from an accredited institution or government body. Name and birthdate appear on the School Leaving Certificate (SLC), School Transfer Certificate (TC), and SSC Certificate.

Certificate from Central or State Government agencies based on service history.

Following the member's medical examination, the Civil Surgeon provided a medical certificate.

Passport PAN issued by the IT department Central/State Pension Payment Order CGHS/ECHS/Medi-claim card with date of birth and picture from the Central/State/UT Government

Proof of address supplied by the government
