7th Pay Commission: Positive Update! The government notified these workers that their DA had risen by 4%

The most recent information on the seventh pay commission is that Central staff are awaiting their Dearness Allowance (DA) for the January–June period of the new year.

Latest news about the 7th pay commission: Dearness Allowance (DA) for the January–June period of the new year is awaited by Central workers. Meanwhile, starting of January 1, 2024, the West Bengal government is increasing employee allowances. Despite the fact that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had already declared the DA rise in December, the administration has now released a notice.

What is the permitted amount?

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had declared in December that all 14 lakh state government employees, pensioners, and teaching and non-teaching staff at all schools, colleges, and universities would receive a 4% raise in their distribution allowance. Mamata Banerjee has previously said that the DA rise would need an extra expenditure of Rs 2,400 crore for her administration.

Let us inform you that, effective immediately, dearness allowance for workers in West Bengal would rise from the current 6 percent to 10 percent. There is still a 36% gap between workers in West Bengal and those in the central region. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, has previously said that participation in DA is voluntary rather than required. We are considering the welfare of our staff when we make this raise.

Happy news for Central staff members until March

If everything goes according to plan, central personnel should get positive news about their allowances by March. The dearness allowance may rise by 4% in the first half of the year, per reports in the media. Employees in central offices will see an increase in allowance from 46% to 50% if the rise is merely 4%. The House Rent Allowance, or HRA, will be changed as soon as central workers' allowance reaches 50% or above. The Seventh Pay Commission states that when the allowance is fifty percent or above, HRA will be adjusted.
