According to the research, out of the 1,088 suicide fatalities that occurred in 2023, Beed had the largest number of deaths (269), followed by 182 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 175 in Nanded, 171 in Dharashiv, and 103 in Parbhani. These fatalities were recorded in Jalna, Latur, and Hingoli as74,72, and 42, respectively.


In Marathwada, which includes the districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded, and Parbhani, 1,023 farmer suicides were recorded in 2022, according to the research. After looking into each instance, the government awarded Rs 1 lakh as an ex-gratia. According to the official, family members received payments in qualifying circumstances. He said that 151 of the 1,088 cases are now being investigated, and 777 of the cases that qualified for ex-gratia had already been paid out.
