In December 2023, a total of Rs 1,64,882 crore was collected as gross GST income. This amount comprises of Rs 30,443 crore for CGST, Rs 37,935 crore for SGST, and Rs 84,255 crore for IGST (which includes Rs 41,534 crore collected on goods import). The cess is Rs 12,249 crore, which includes Rs 1,079 crore on goods imports, according to the statement. Notably, collections of more than Rs 1.60 lakh crore have been made for seven months running this year.
