According to a study conducted by US-based consulting company Morning Consult, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has an approval rating of 76%, making him the most popular leader in the world.


Following PM Modi is President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of Mexico (66 percent), President Alain Berset of Switzerland (58 percent), and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil (49 percent). Sixth position goes to Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni, who has a 41 percent approval rating.


For a while now, PM has been at the top of this list. Only 18% of respondents disagreed of his leadership style, and 6% had no view, according to the study, which found that 76% of respondents approved of it.


Joe Biden, the president of the United States, is ranked sixth with 40% of the vote.


With a 58 percent approval rating, Justin Trudeau of Canada is the most popular leader among the top ten on the list.


The most recent approval ratings are derived from information gathered between November 29, 2023, and December 5, 2023. The research organization gathered its statistics from a poll of twenty-two world leaders.


On December 8, however, BJP officials emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the pack in terms of approval ratings among foreign leaders, and that "Modi's guarantee" and "Modi's magic" had also been validated by an international study.


According to BJP national spokesman Shehzad Poonawala, an international study conducted after the results of the assembly election also lauded Modi for his assurance and charm in relation to his style of delivery and administration.


According to him, Modi's popularity remained strong even in the midst of global crises such as COVID-19, when other global leaders encountered widespread backing. According to Poonawalla, the approval rating would be evident in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.


Modi is seen as a "karma yogi" by BJP leader C T Ravi, who attributes his popularity to his vision, hard work, and commitment to changing the nation.


"Today the entire world desires PM Modi for guidance and advice to solve its problems," he said.
