Customers of State Bank of India (SBI) are getting bogus mails regarding closing their accounts. Customers should not respond to such phony communications, it has been said, warning them about this. Customers who respond to this fraudulent mail and provide the requested information may also be victims of fraud.


Recognize phony messages from SBI customers:


The warning "Dear SBI user, your YONO account will be blocked today" was issued to SBI clients. In order to update your PAN card number, kindly click the link.


How should SBI clients behave?


Consumers are advised not to reply to emails or SMS requests for their financial information. Report any such messages you receive right away to report.phishing@sbi.co.in.


Never provide personal information.


The SBI website advises against sending any sensitive information, passwords, account numbers, or other personal information over texts as these may be used fraudulently.


Customers of SBI, beware:


If an SBI account holder receives a text message indicating that they urgently need to update their information, activate an account, or prove their identity by giving information on a website or by contacting a phone number, they should proceed with care. These communications can be a part of a fraud called phishing. Fraudsters are using this in order to get sensitive account information and perpetrate fraud.
