As a result of the cyclonic storm "Michong" building over the Bay of Bengal, wind speeds of up to 100 km/h are possible on December 4. This storm is most likely to make landfall between Machilipatnam and Nellore. Due to this, the Tiruvallur district has been placed under red alert for Monday. The North Western Railway spokesman said that the following train services are being canceled due to the impending hurricane "Maichong" on the network.

Control centers have been set up by IMD at schools and for individuals to stay. In case things become worse, the government has also stored food packages, water, medications, and supplies.
