It is anticipated that ₹290 crore worth of cash would be found in Odisha IT searches. The IT operation is probably going to be the biggest black money recovery by any agency ever because of how much money it recovered.

Following two days of continuous searches at several sites in Odisha and Jharkhand, income tax officers believe they have retrieved almost ₹290 crore. The current raid has resulted in the "highest ever" seizure of black money in a single operation by any agency, according to PTI, which cited government sources. Huge sums of money have been collected from several sites.

In addition, the agency has seized more cars in order to deliver the confiscated money to the state-run institutions. According to sources who spoke with the news agency, the IT department seized the offices of Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, in addition to other properties owned by the liquor production company.

Neither the Congress MP nor the Distillery Group have released an official comment as of yet. Tax authorities are now documenting the statements of different corporate executives and other relevant parties; by the end of Saturday, the cash counting is also anticipated to be finished.

The news agency report states that it is anticipated that around Rs 290 crore would be seized in total as unaccounted cash.

Following the receipt of "actionable intelligence" by tax authorities of large "out of book" sales and cash payments by booze distributors, sellers, and trade associations, the IT searches got underway.
