The CGHS tariffs and packages have been updated by the government. Additionally, the government has loosened the referral guidelines.

Fees for recipients of CGHS

1. For an OPD consultation, CGHS cardholders would need to pay Rs 350.

2. A fixed fee of Rs 350 has been set for IPD consultations for beneficiaries of the CGHS.

ICU Fee for Recipients of CGHS

The ICU's rates are set at Rs 5,400. The total fee for the private ward is Rs 5,400, or Rs 8,62 + Rs 4,500. For hospitals that are not NABH, ICU fees are Rs 750, and for those that are, they are Rs 862. This covers room rental, nursing care, monitoring, and the RMO charge price. The amount of the room rent will depend on whether the CGHS recipient is in a General Ward, Semi-Private Ward, or Private Ward.

Room Charges for CGHS Recipients

For CGHS cardholders, the general ward room rate has been adjusted to Rs 1,500. The semi-private ward would charge Rs 3,000 per room. For the private ward, the room rate has remained at Rs 4500.

Simplified referral procedure for holders of CGHS cards

Additionally, the CGHS Wellness Center referral procedure has been made simpler by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Prior to this, the CGHS recipient needed to come in person to the Wellness Center to get a hospital recommendation. However, the CGHS recipient may now send someone to the wellness center on his behalf with his documentation if he is unable to go. After reviewing the documentation, the medical officer may request that the recipient visit the hospital. Beneficiaries of CGHS may now complete this task via video conference.
