The Center intends to introduce the CEC Bill and three significant legislation amending the penal code in the Lok Sabha.


Ninety-five members of the Lok Sabha and forty-six members of the Rajya Sabha were suspended in the wake of the opposition's demand that Union Minister Amit Shah make a statement about the event involving the breach of Parliament security.


On December 20, the Center intends to introduce the CEC Bill and three significant proposals amending the penal code in the Lok Sabha. The Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act are intended to be superseded by the Criminal Law Amendment Bill. The Indian Evidence Act, the Indian Civil Defense Code, and the Judicial Code. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, is anticipated to address the House and suggest passing the measures.


On Tuesday, the Lok Sabha Secretariat sent a circular prohibiting its suspended members of parliament from entering the Parliament chamber, lobby, or galleries. "He is prohibited from attending parliamentary committee meetings in which he may be a member, and any communication provided by him during the duration of his suspension shall be deemed admissible," the directive said. He won't even be eligible for a daily allowance as long as his ban is in effect.


The Rajya Sabha's Wednesday sessions were postponed till 11:30 a.m. due to opposition members' complaints on the security lapse at Parliament.


• The opposition members persisted in their protests when the House reconvened at 11:15 a.m.


Some opposition members had brought up the security lapse earlier when the House meeting started, and they had asked the Home Minister to make a statement on the subject.
