IMD Alert: Many states throughout the nation are experiencing shivering cold. In the midst of a harsh winter, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir have issued alerts about rain and snowfall. There will be a lot of fog at the same time in numerous states, such Punjab and Haryana.


Current Weather Update: There is a lot of thick fog in North India, while the hill states are suffering from bone-chilling cold. Minimum temperatures between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius were reported in regions of Uttar Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and west Bihar during the course of the last 24 hours. For the next twenty-four hours, the weather in this area won't change. According to the Meteorological Department, the majority of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand have low temperatures between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius.


Alerts for rain and snowfall in these states


December 22–24 may see isolated areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand see mild rain and snowfall. In addition, rain is possible in a few isolated locations in North Punjab and North Haryana. Let us inform you that Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh are experiencing a harsh winter. There are locations in Himachal when the lowest temperature drops below minus fifteen degrees Celsius. Simultaneously, temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir are said to be below minus 3 to 7 degrees.

For the next four days, the meteorological bureau has forecast heavy fog in the mornings across Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura. Aside from this, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh may have mild to moderate fog.

The country's weather is not expected to significantly alter during the next five days, according to the Meteorological Department. During the following three days, northern India's minimum temperatures are probably going to climb by 2-3°C. This suggests that some reprieve from the cold may be forthcoming for the people of North India.


In Delhi, how will things be?


Delhi-NCR is becoming colder as well. Even during the day, melting is being felt across the NCR, including Delhi and Noida. Delhi's weather today is expected to be typical. On Wednesday, the highest temperature in Delhi was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius, and the air quality is still classified as "poor."


Rajasthan is really chilly.


While the bone-chilling cold persists in certain areas of Rajasthan, the lowest temperature fell by two to three degrees Celsius in most places on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department spokeswoman said that the state's coldest location was Fatehpur in Sikar, which had a low temperature of 1.3 degrees Celsius. He claimed that Sikar reported a temperature of three degrees Celsius yesterday night.


A slight western disturbance may provide hazy skies in certain areas of the state on December 22, according to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur. According to the Center, there is very little chance of rain in the remaining areas during this time, with the exception of a few isolated locations in Jodhpur, the Bikaner division, and the Shekhawati region. During December 23–24, there is a chance of a modest decrease in the lowest temperature, and most of the state will have mostly dry weather.
