IMD notice: A two-day notice for dense fog is in effect. Within twenty-four hours, the winds will shift, and winter will become harsher. The Meteorological Department predicts a dip in temperature and a rise in cold due to the thick fog warning.


Starting on Monday, there will likely be dense fog for two days. The temperature will decrease. But in contrast to the Meteorological Department's prediction on Sunday, there wasn't much fog in the morning. The highest recorded temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius, while the lowest was 7.3 degrees. The cold is predicted to become worse after Monday's temperature decrease.


The Meteorological Department said that Meerut and the adjacent districts in western Uttar Pradesh can continue to see some cloud cover for 48 hours starting on Monday. Fog is predicted to be present at the scene. In some areas, there may also be light drizzle. It is anticipated that the nighttime temperature will rise due to the entrance of the western disturbance in the highlands.


Compared to previous year, when these days were very cold, the day and nighttime temperatures were reported as being higher than usual. The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 26.2 degrees Celsius during the day and 7.3 degrees Celsius at night, which was four degrees Celsius more than usual. The Meteorological Department states that a high temperature of 22.5 degrees is typical. The sun emerged and there was less fog in the morning. Thick fog is predicted to start on Monday. The daytime cloud cover could persist.

Due to a shift in wind direction and a decrease in wind speed to just 1.6 km/h, pollution has decreased. The index of air quality dropped from 229 to 162. The CSA University meteorologist, Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, predicted that the following 24 to 48 hours would see an increase in cold.
