IMD Rainfall Alert, Weather Update: The Meteorological Department reports that the lowest temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan is between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius.


IMD Rainfall Alert: Friday, the next day, will see a shift in the weather pattern amongst the extreme cold in North India. A three-day rain warning has been issued for North India, including Uttar Pradesh, starting tomorrow. Due to the extreme cold and thick fog that have already caused issues in North India, rain may make matters worse. The Meteorological Department predicts that North-West India will have thick to intense fog for the next two days, after which it will lessen. Meanwhile, a rain notice has been issued until January 2 for North-West and Central India, where there will be light rain starting tomorrow.


The Meteorological Department reports that the minimum temperature is 7–11 degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, as well as Rajasthan, and 12–12 degrees Celsius in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Interior Odisha, and Jharkhand. The temperature is being recorded as 14 degrees Celsius. Many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand are experiencing dense fog. Simultaneously, Himachal Pradesh, Gilgit Baltistan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh are reporting heavy fog. Morning fog is thick even in places like Odisha and Bihar.


The next five days will bring what kind of weather?


According to the Meteorological Department, from the evening of December 29 to the morning of December 31, as well as in many other locations over the next three days, there may be thick to intense fog in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. There will be very little visibility in such a scenario. Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will all see heavy fog between December 29 and January 2. Madhya Pradesh between December 29 and 30, Jharkhand between December 29 and 30, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between December 29 and 31 are expected to have dense fog. On December 29, 30, and 31, there will be chilly weather in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh.


Rain warning in the UP and these states


Simultaneously, there is a chance of light rain and snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh on December 29, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on December 30 and 31 owing to the Western Disturbance. In addition, on December 31 and January 2, there will be light rain in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, which will result in a significant shift in the weather. In reference to South India, many states in this region are also under a rain warning. Between December 29 and January 2, there is a chance of mild to moderate rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep.
