Similarly, an eligible individual may enlist using only his fingerprints if his iris could not be collected for whatever reason.

There has been a significant modification to the Aadhaar guidelines by the government. According to the government, in the event that fingerprints are not accessible, a person who qualifies for "Aadhaar" may enroll using a "Iris" scan. The announcement was made after the confirmation of Keralan lady Josimol P Jose's nomination by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and IT. The lady did not have digits on her hands, hence she was unable to register for Aadhaar. The Aadhaar regulation modification would assist a vast number of individuals. Due to a lack of fingerprints required for Aadhar enrollment, many individuals were unable to complete the process. The fingerprint is no longer required with the latest modification.

Those who cannot produce their fingerprints won't encounter any issues.

The statement claims that on the same day, Jose, a resident of Kumarakam in the Keralan district of Kottayam, was visited at her house by a team from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), who then created her Aadhaar number. According to Chandrashekhar, all Aadhaar Seva Kendras have been requested to provide Aadhaar cards to those with fingerprints that are hazy or who have other such infirmities by using other biometrics. "A person who is eligible for Aadhaar but is unable to provide fingerprints can enroll using an iris scan only," the announcement reads.

Base formation will occur even in the absence of an ocular pupil.

Similarly, a qualified individual whose iris could not be obtained for whatever reason may register using only his fingerprint. It said that when a person is unable to produce both finger and iris biometrics, their name, gender, address, and birthdate are compared to the biometrics that are already on file.
