Significant updates on Dearness Allowance and the Old Pension Scheme have been released. Recognize what this is and the consequences.

Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann has declared a 4 percent increase in government workers' Dearness Allowance. As a result, as of December 1, the DA jumped from 34 to 38 percent.

Mann said on a social media network We are going to provide the staff with presents for the new year. A 4 percent increase on DA (DA Hike) has been implemented; this will take effect on December 1, 2023. 3.25 lakh workers and 3.50 lakh state pensioners would gain from this.

Following the meeting, PSMSU President Amrik Singh said that the Chief Minister had declared that state government workers will get 4% of their salary in DA. He said that the Chief Minister had promised to provide the last 8% of the DA.

Mann reportedly said that the state administration would bring up the subject of the reinstatement of the previous pension plan with the federal government, according to a PTI report.

Mann said in a statement that a meeting with the Indian government's finance secretary will be scheduled to discuss the issue further. The workers wanted the reinstatement of the previous pension plan, the payment of unpaid 12 percent disability benefits, and the regularization of contract workers.
