In this respect, a letter has been sent by the traffic police to the transport department. The traffic police claim that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the cancellation of driver's licenses for those who break traffic laws three or more times at the December 2 meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Safety Council.


According to DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav, 219606 drivers in the district broke traffic laws between January 1, 2022, and November 30, 2023. 96890 of them have registered in the district, and their drivers have broken the law at least three times. The cars that are left are registered in different areas. On the other hand, 12482 vehicle drivers broke the law at least ten times.


The drivers of 1042 cars have broken traffic laws more than thirty times. DCP Traffic said that such rigorous measures have been put in place for the first time, and that ARTO enforcement has received a letter in this respect. As per the data obtained from the Transport Department, driving licenses have been suspended up until now just for breaking traffic laws inside the district. However, this will be the first instance of license cancellation.

On Friday, signs lowering the speed limit on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway were put in place. In this, the speed limit for light vehicles is 75 km/h, while the speed limit for heavy trucks is 60 km/h. The higher danger of traffic accidents in fog has led to a reduction in the speed limit. This includes the 165 mile Yamuna Expressway and the 24 km Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, where the speed restriction has been lowered. This will be in effect until February 15th.
