New Delhi: Group ticket booking will now be very simple for train travelers. Now, travelers may reserve up to 100 tickets just from the station closest to them. The Railways' move has made it simple to purchase tickets for the wedding processions.

This is how group tickets may be ordered.

West Central Railway reports that all reservation centers now provide this service as well. However, up until recently, applicants had to visit the divisional office to request for advance reservations for groups of more than 20 individuals (group tickets), which created significant trouble for those who lived further away.

It is notable that group reservations could not be made using the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) app or website.

In addition, no more than six persons may be booked for tickets at once. Thus, it becomes challenging for travelers to purchase tickets online in bulk if group reservations—that is, reservations for more than six people—need to be made.

Group bookings for up to 100 persons are now possible.

Trains are often used by travelers on pilgrimages, in wedding processions, or when they are traveling via a group reservation office.

As per the latest railway rule, the chief commercial inspector, station manager, and chief reservation supervisor of the reservation center are all authorized to make reservations for groups of 15 to 30 people.

The Station Director, Regional Manager, and Assistant Commercial Manager will be entitled to make reservations for parties of up to 100 people in advance.

The Divisional Commercial Manager of the division will only need to attend in order to submit the application if there is a group reservation involving more than 100 persons. Following the decentralization of rights, applicants may now contact the closest train reservation center or reservation ticket window to take use of the party booking feature.

The decentralization of this group reservation feature eliminates the requirement for passengers from local stations to go to the railway division headquarters.
