Bank Five Days Working: The Rajya Sabha has provided an update about the workers who are waiting for the weekly Saturday holiday in banks.

Bank 5 Days Working: The government could soon break good news to bank staff. The bank workers' union has been pushing for five working days in banks for a very long time. Currently, the second and fourth Saturdays of each month are designated as bank staff vacation days. However, the staff is requesting that it be expanded to each Saturday of the month. In response to this, the government's plans were outlined by the State Minister of Finance in a written statement to the Rajya Sabha.

The proposal was presented to Parliament by the government

In a written response to the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Bhagwat Karad, the Minister of State for Finance, said that the Indian Banks Association (IBA) has suggested that banks continue to observe Saturdays as holidays. But as of right now, the second and fourth Saturdays of each month are designated as public holidays for banks under the terms of the tenth bilateral agreement between the Banks Union and IBA, which was signed in 2015.

This is what the bank union is requesting

Let us inform you that bank workers anticipate receiving assistance from the government in the near future. IBA has granted permission to work five days a week in banks. However, the Finance Ministry and RBI have not yet approved this. In addition, media sources state that IBA has suggested raising bank workers' compensation by 15%.
