Hasnain Syed, the younger son of Junior Mahmood, told PTI, "My father battled stomach cancer and died away around two in the morning. For the last seventeen days, his health has been serious. In only one month, he had lost 35 to 40 pounds. The kilos had decreased.


Character actor Junior Mehmood, who starred in films such as "Caravan," "Haathi Mere Saathi," and "Mera Naam Joker," passed away on Friday after a protracted illness, according to his son Hasnain.

Real name Naeem Syed, Junior Mehmood made his acting debut in the films "Mohabbat Zindagi Hai" (1966) and "Naunihaal" (1967). He was dubbed Junior Mehmood by the late, great comedic performer Mehmood, after their collaboration on the 1968 movie " ."


Junior Mehmood was receiving treatment from a local doctor for stomach trouble, according to the actor's close friend Salam Qazi. However, his family chose to take him to Tata Memorial Hospital when he began to lose weight.


Following an examination, the medical professionals informed him that he had a tumor in his stomach and cancer in both his liver and lungs. "He had also developed jaundice," Qazi said.


On Tuesday, after expressing their want to meet, actors Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar visited the actor at his home. "Suhaag Raat" and "Caravan" were two of the movies in which Jeetendra appeared with the actor.


Over the course of a forty-year career, Junior Mehmood appeared in over 260 films in seven different languages. "Brahmachari", "Kati Patang", "Hare Rama Hare Krishna", "Geet Gaata Chal", "Imandaar", "Baap Nambari Beta Dus Nambari", "Aaj Ka Arjun", "Gurudev", Are; "small government" and "separation" are some of his other well-known flicks.


Additionally, the actor starred in television series such as "Ek Rishta Partnership Ka" and "Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara".


Later, the actor will be laid to rest at the Santa Cruz cemetery, according to Qazi.


"He'll be laid to rest in the same cemetery as his mother. There are also other well-known people buried there, including Mohammed Rafi and Dilip Kumar Sahab, according to Qazi.


Two boys and a wife survive Junior Mahmood.
