The dearness allowance will increase once again.

The central staff will get an increase in dearness allowance as a present first. It began in July. The August, September, and July AICPI index data are available. We have not yet received the October, November, and December numbers. Thus far, there has been a 2.50% rise. The dearness allowance (DA rise) has reached 48.54 percent if we look at the AICPI index data, despite the fact that the present DA rate is 46 percent. At this moment, the index is 137.5 points. The amount allotted for travel will rise.

In fact, the regulations state that it will be changed if the dearness allowance surpasses 50%. HRA is currently provided at a rate of 27, 24, and 18%. It is separated into city categories Z, Y, and X. HRA will rise to 30, 27, and 21 percent if the dearness allowance is set at 50%.

When will these three presents be delivered?

By March of the following year, increases in dearness allowance, travel allowance, and HRA revision for central staff are anticipated. The government typically releases the dearness allowance for the month of March beginning in January. In such a case, the question of whether or not the dearness allowance exceeds 50% will only be resolved in March 2024. Should this be accomplished, HRA will also rise by three percent.
