Winter Break for Schools: Due to the current cold snap, the Jharkhand Education Department has ordered that all state schools be closed from December 26 to December 31. In the UP, winter break will begin on December 31.

School Winter Vacation 2023: A cold wave has begun in several North Indian states as a result of recent snowfall in the Himalayan highlands. A number of state governments have announced winter breaks for schools due to the extreme cold and decreasing temperatures. The Jharkhand government issued the most recent directive. The Jharkhand Education Department has issued an order to keep all state schools closed from December 26 to December 31 due to the cold wave. The Education Department made this choice in light of the growing effects of the cold wave over the state. Here, the individual schools will hold the tenth and twelfth grades in accordance with the requirements, taking into account the Matriculation and Intermediate tests.

UP begins its winter vacation on December 31.

All Uttar Pradesh council schools will begin their winter break on December 31. Council schools will break for the winter from December 31 to January 14 of the following year, with classes ending on December 30. In this respect, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council has also issued regulations stating that the appropriate authority may alter the schedule of school operations due to weather variations and the bitter cold of winter.

Delhi

Delhi's winter break for schools is scheduled to run from January 1 to January 6, 2024. The Delhi government had shut down schools in November because of pollution, so this winter break would only last six days instead of fifteen.

Rajasthan

Rajasthani schools will begin their winter break on December 24. The duration of these holidays is January 5, 2024. This implies that all schools, both public and private, will be closed for thirteen days.

Jammu

Jammu's government and private schools will all be closed from December 11, 2023, to February 29, 2024, for winter break. Students in grades 9 through 12 have holidays from December 18 to February 29.

Bihar

The winter break has not yet been notified by the Bihar Education Department. With winter drawing closer, the state administration will shortly release a statement in this respect.
