He claims that the 6,500 square meter facility would be expanded to 50,000 square meters as part of the airport project's second phase. "We are extending the runway to 3,750 metres, that's enough for international flights," he said.

Over Rs 1,450 crore was spent on the development of the first phase of the Ayodhya airport. The 6,500 square meter airport terminal building can accommodate almost one million people a year.
