A moped collision in Portsmouth wounded two adolescents

In an incident involving two teens on a moped, the police are said to have failed to halt, resulting in catastrophic injuries.

At 23:50 GMT on Monday, according to Portsmouth, Hampshire, and Isle of Wight Police, police saw a white Honda moped.

The car was traveling along Somers Road when it struck a silver BMW at Richmond Road and Clarendon Road intersection.

Investigating is the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

The moped, which had a rider and a passenger, "failed to stop" for a designated police vehicle, according to a police spokesperson, when the officers saw that one of the riders was without a crash helmet.

The bikers went to Margate Road, Victoria Road North, and Victoria Road South after being seen on Somers Road.

"Cogitations with Boys"

According to the spokesperson, the lads, one from Portsmouth and the other from Southsea, "suffered serious and life-threatening injuries" as well as were both receiving medical attention at a hospital.

Police are requesting that witnesses or anybody with doorbell, dashcam, or CCTV video along the route get in touch with them.

There have been no takedowns.

The police notified the IOPC, which then confirmed it was conducting an investigation.

"Our thoughts are with the boys as well as their families and all those affected by this incident," an IOPC official said.

"At this time, there is no additional information available. Our investigation is still in its early stages."
