IMD Weather Report for December 1, 2023, Today: While the people in several North Indian states are already experiencing discomfort from the growing cold, heavy rains are causing problems in some South Indian states. The Meteorological Department has warned of the possibility of cyclonic storms in some areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in its bulletin, which was published today. Tamil Nadu seems to be the most devastated state right now, which is why the government has ordered several other states' districts to keep their schools closed. An notice for rain has also been issued by the Meteorological Department.


Cyclonic storm danger in several areas of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclonic storm warning for today. As a result, low pressure is building over the southern Andaman Sea and the southeast Bay of Bengal, affecting Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Scientists have termed the cyclonic storm that is threatening some sections of the state as "Michong." The government has ordered that schools be kept closed in several areas and has placed the NDRF team on standby in Chennai in light of the current circumstances.


Fishermen are advised not to go near the water


The South Andaman Sea and the southeast Bay of Bengal were under a low pressure area on Wednesday, according to the IMD. The region drifted west-northwest and paused over the southeast Bay of Bengal, which is currently over its west- Fishermen are urged by the meteorological agency not to go out to sea during this time as it is expected to travel northwest and then transform into a depression over the Bay of Bengal.


These places will be impacted by a storm on December 3 and 4.


The Meteorological Department provided further details regarding Cyclonic Storm Michong, stating that on December 3, there is a good chance that the storm would move in a west-northwest direction and eventually develop into a cyclonic storm over the south-west Bay of Bengal. After that, it will turn northwest and is predicted to reach the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh between Chennai and Machilipatnam on December 4 in the evening.


Winds have the potential to reach 70 km/h.


In the South-West Bay of Bengal during the cyclonic storm on December 1, the Meteorological Department has forecast wind speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour to 60 kilometers per hour; on December 2, the winds may reach 50 kilometers per hour. -The velocity may range from sixty to seventy kilometers per hour.


Maharashtra and MP will get rain due to a disturbance in the west.


In addition to expressing concern about the possibility of rain and thundershowers in Madhya Pradesh as well as Maharashtra due to the weather change, the Meteorological Department has also provided information about L Paschimo Disturbance, which has the potential to affect the plains around the Western Himalayan region.
