Meeting of the National Council with 600 delegates

There will be around 600 delegates attending the National Council meeting from every state. According to General Secretary A Sreekumar, the workers had created a provision for the creation of a Pay Commission to review the pension and pay scale every 10 years as a result of their protest. Seven Central Pay Commissions have been established so far. The Central Government has put its proposals on pensions and central workers into effect. The State Governments apply the Pay Commission's recommendations to their workers and pensioners at the same time as the Central Government does.

No NPS change has been authorized.

With the Central Government's reluctance to form the Eighth Pay Commission, the door has been automatically closed for state workers. Government statistics indicates that there are around 67.95 lakh retirees and 48.67 central workers. The number of state government and PSU workers and pensioners exceeds this. According to National President Subhash Lamba, the Finance Secretary's comment indicates that the Central Government plans to modify the NPS. A committee headed by the Finance Secretary was established by the government to examine the pension scheme. According to TV Somanathan, the finance secretary, "We have concluded our discussions with all the parties." We will shortly submit our report.
