58 captives who were taken prisoner during the October 7 strikes on Israel have been freed from Gaza.
A deal between Israel and Hamas resulted in the release of around 40 hostages, all of whom were women and children.

A second deal between Hamas and the Egyptian government has resulted in the release of one Filipino and seventeen Thai captives.
After four days of combat that started at 07:00 (05:00 GMT) on November 24, 50 captives will be freed in accordance with the parameters of the temporary truce between Israel and Hamas.
According to Hamas, the deal would enable hundreds of vehicles carrying gasoline, medical supplies, and humanitarian assistance into Gaza and free 150 Palestinian women and adolescents from Israeli jails.
Who among the Israeli captives freed?
The 78-year-old Margalit Mozes was kidnapped from her Kibbutz Nir Oz residence. In addition to undergoing cancer treatment, the woman's family reports that she has additional health issues requiring near-constant medical attention.
On October 7, Adina Moshe, 72, was also kidnapped from Nir Oz. On behalf of other captives and their families, a group said that her husband, Saeed Moshe, was slain in the incident. Her relatives then recognized her from a video footage in which she was seen riding a motorbike between two Hamas gunmen.
Along with Daniel's sister Sharon Aloni Cunio, 34, her husband David Cunio, 33, and their twin kids Emma and Yuli, 3 years old, they were kidnapped from Nir Oz. Daniel Aloni, 44, and his 6-year-old daughter Emilia were also taken.
Doron Katz Asher, 34, and his two children, Raz, 4, and Aviv, 2, were kidnapped while residing close to the Gaza border with relatives. Yoni, Doron's husband, saw a video of his girls and wife being put into a vehicle together with other captives. Additionally, they tracked Doron's cell phone throughout Gaza.
Mr. Usher told the BBC upon his release, "I am determined to heal my family following the trauma as well as terrible grief we went through."
"I don't celebrate, I won't dance until the last of the kidnapped people comes back," he said.
"The families of the abducted are real people, not just slogans or posters, and they are my new family starting today. I will stop at nothing to ensure that the last of the abducted returns home."
On November 25, nine-year-old Emily Hand—who had been detained in Gaza without the presence of any family members—was freed. When the nine-year-old Irish-Israeli child from Kibbutz Berry went missing, it was to be her ninth birthday. Following Emily's release, her father, Tom Hand, who was once suspected of killing her, spoke with the BBC.
The family was "happy to hug Emily again," he added, but they had not forgotten the other captives. "After 50 challenging and complicated days, we are at a loss for adjectives to describe our feelings," he said.
After being kidnapped after the October 7 assaults, 13-year-old Hila Rotem Shoshani and her mother Raya were released from Kibbutz Beeri of their own free choosing. Israeli media reports that on October 29, the family was formally informed that Hila and Raya were being held captive in Gaza when Raya, who is now in captivity there, sent a message to her brother that same day.
Maya Regev, 21, was caught up in the Hamas assault with her brother Itay while attending the Supernova music festival in southern Israel. Maya's kid called her father that morning, screaming, "Dad, they are shooting at me, I am dead." The family claimed to have subsequently seen Itay in handcuffs in the rear of a car in a Hamas-released video, where he was still thought to be a captive.
American-Israeli When Avigail Idan was just three years old, Hamas militants assaulted and murdered her parents at her house, taking her captive. After making her escape, she went to live with her neighbors, the Brodach family, but she was subsequently abducted along with them. During her confinement, Avigail celebrated her fourth birthday.
Along with her children, Oria, 4, Yuval, 8, and Ofri, 10, Hagar Brodach, 40, was freed. Avichai Brodach, Hagar's husband, claims that during the Hamas assault, they were at Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Shmuel Brodach, his father-in-law, said to Israel's Channel 13 News: "I was relieved to hear they were in the Red Cross's care."
According to Israeli authorities, Ohad Munder-Zichri, age nine, his mother Karen Munder, age 54, and his grandmother Ruthie Munder, age 78, were taken from Nir Oz. There is a phone signal in Gaza, according to the Associated Press. It was in Gaza that Ohad celebrated his ninth birthday. Avraham Munder, the grandfather of Ohad, Karen's father, and Ruthie Munder's spouse are still in captivity.
Although the release of some family members was "a step forward being happy," Avraham's nephew Itay Ravi told BBC Newsnight that "it's still a very terrible reality that we're in."

On November 9, Islamic Jihad published a video featuring Hannah Katzir, 77. She may be seen speaking to the camera while seated in a wheelchair in this. She and her son, Elad Katzir, 47, were abducted from Nir Oz.
According to Channah's daughter Ayelet Swatitzky, Channah Perry,79, was held hostage together with her 51-year-old son Nadav Popwell. She said that when the gunmen came, she was on the phone with them. He said the pictures, which included two relatives with diabetes and armed men in the backdrop, were supplied to him by his captors. Speaking on behalf of the families, the organization said that Channa left behind three children when she came to Israel from South Africa in the 1960s.
On October 7, Dr. Shoshan Haran, 67, was kidnapped from his Kibbutz Beeri residence. She has a PhD in Agricultural Sciences and is the creator of a nonprofit that provides food for people in need. On November 25, he was let free from prison together with his 38-year-old daughter Adi Shoham and their two children, Yahel, age three, and Neve, age eight. While Adi's husband, 38-year-old Tal, remains in jail, Dr. Haran's spouse, Avshalom, an economist and dual German-Israeli citizen, was murdered in a Hamas assault.
The 52-year-old theater therapist Sharon Avigdori and her 12-year-old daughter Noam, who were also abducted from Berri at the same time and are cousins of Dr. Haran, were freed. According to the family, the assault claimed the lives of Aviator Kipnis, 65, and his wife Lilach Kipnis, 60.

Yaffa Adar is a great-grandmother of seven, a grandmother of eight, and a mother of three children.
The 85-year-old Yafa Adar was taken from Nir Oz. Adwa, his granddaughter, got a video of him being brought to Gaza as four armed guys were all around him. Speaking on behalf of the families, the group said that they had three children, eight grandkids, and seven great-grandchildren. Tamir, Yaffa's 38-year-old grandson, was also sent to Gaza, according to The Times of Israel. Tamir served in the Nir Oz emergency squad and protected the kibbutz.
Berry was the home of 53-year-old Shiri Weiss, her daughter Noga, 18, and her 58-year-old husband, Ilan Weiss, who is Noga's father. For the agricultural association of the kibbutz, Shiri works as an accountant. According to a family video message, Noga hid under a bed until Hamas ignited a fire, which forced him out and resulted in his kidnapping. Meanwhile, Shiri was apprehended.
