The Global VP of Google Cloud Resigns and Is Replaced by a Snowflake Channel Superstar
"Bron Hastings has chosen to pursue an opportunity away from Google after 2.5 impactful years," Google Cloud's Kevin Ichhpurani said in an internal message that CRN was able to receive.
After two years, Bronwyn Hastings, the head of Google Cloud's partner ecosystem, is leaving the business to seek other possibilities. Superstar in the channel Colleen Kapase, who worked at Citrix, VMware, and Snowflake for more than 20 years as a top partner executive, will take her position.
Google Cloud's Kevin Ichhpurani revealed that Hastings would relinquish his position as channel leader in an internal document that CRN was able to access.
I'm happy to announce that Colleen Kapase will be taking over as leader of the Global Channels & Programs division on December 4th, joining our team. Colleen developed a next-generation cloud-first partner and channel organization at Snowflake over the past five years, taking it from its inception to an effect of multiple billions of dollars, according to Ichhpurani, corporate vice president as well as head of global ecosystem along with business development at Google Cloud.
Hastings, the corporate vice president of Global ISV Partnerships and Channels at Google Cloud, was in charge of managing the partner ecosystem. He was recognized on CRN's 2023 Inclusive Channel Leader list. She worked in senior sales and channel positions for SAP, Oracle, and Citrix before first joining the cloud startup in 2021.
Following two and a half transformative years, Bron Hastings has chosen to go after a chance away from Google. In addition to supporting our "partner first" philosophy and increasing channel revenue contribution, Bron has been a strong leader in the Ecosystem & Channels team and has played a significant role in the development of our partner programs, according to Ichhpurani. "She has been a dear friend to all of us while making a meaningful and lasting impact."
November 10 is Hastings' last day at Google Cloud. By the time of publication, neither Hastings nor Kapase could be contacted.
Colleen Kapase: Who Is She?
Kapase is a senior vice president of global partnerships and alliances at Snowflake, a rival in cloud, data, and artificial intelligence. For over five years, she has been in charge of Snowflake's partner strategy, initiatives, and field teams.
She led the successful 2020 launch of the Snowflake Partner Network, which transformed Snowflake's partner engagement strategy.
Before that, Kapase worked at VMware for 13 years, her final position being vice president of partner incentives, programs, and go-to-market. In addition, she served as Citrix's director of channel programs from 2001 until 2006.
Kapase posted an apparent goodbye on LinkedIn last week, stating that her time at Snowflake was a "pleasure working with partners."
On LinkedIn, Kapase stated, "I'm grateful for building one of the company's most forward-thinking, efficient, fights that surpasses its weight class partner teams." "The level of effort, enjoyment, and friendship we developed while really enjoying our trip was unmatched. Working with a partner team that really believes in the data cloud ecosystem was a pleasure.
She added, "I will see you soon. I have dedicated my whole professional life to the partner community."
According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Hastings' exit indicates no changes to Google Cloud's channel program, strategy, or direction.
