 Sun Pharma Q2 earnings: Net profit above estimates, rising 5% to Rs 2375 crore


Revenue for the quarter was Rs 12,192 crore, up 11.3 percent from Rs 10,952.3 crore in the same period last year.


The pharmaceutical giant Sun Pharma exceeded predictions on November 1st when it revealed a 5% year-over-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,375.5 crore for the July–September quarter of the current fiscal year.


In the same time the previous year, the business had generated a profit of Rs 2,262.22 crore.


Revenue for the quarter was Rs 12,192 crore, up 11.3 percent from Rs 10,952.3 crore in the same period last year.


Moneycontrol gathered data from ten brokerages and used it to estimate net profit at Rs 2,316.7 crore and revenue at Rs 12,047.6 crore.


Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the firm increased to Rs 3179 crore from Rs 2,956.5 crore in the same period last year. Compared to the same time last year, the EBITDA margin was 26.1 percent, down from 27 percent.


In an effort to maximize resource utilization and achieve "efficiency in overall combined business," the Board also authorized the merger of five wholly-owned subsidiaries into one.
